# Editor (https://openclip.app/docs/clipping/editor/)

Every Viral Moment has its own editor. Open a clip from the Clips tab of the [Content Hub](https://openclip.app/docs/clipping/content-hub/), or go to `https://openclip.app/viral-moments/{clip}/edit` directly.

The editor shows a live preview with captions, a transcript panel, and a timeline. Changes save automatically; a save status indicator tells you when your edit is stored.

## Trim with segments [#trim-with-segments]

A clip is defined by segments: the time ranges of the source that stay in the final cut. On the timeline you can:

* Move the start and end of a segment to tighten the clip
* Exclude a range in the middle, splitting the clip into multiple kept segments
* Bring back a cut range if you change your mind

The original AI-detected start and end times are kept, so trimming is never destructive to the source Video.

## Fix the transcript [#fix-the-transcript]

Captions render from the clip's transcript, so a misheard word shows up on screen. Click a word in the transcript panel and retype it. Corrections change the text only; word timings stay untouched, so captions stay in sync.

Corrections apply everywhere the transcript is used: the caption preview, exports, and transcript downloads.

## Remove silences [#remove-silences]

The editor analyzes the gaps between spoken words and finds silences. Turn on silence removal and every gap longer than the threshold is cut from the export. The threshold is adjustable; the default is 800 ms.

## Remove filler words [#remove-filler-words]

The editor detects filler words ("um", "uh", and similar) in the transcript. Turn on filler removal to cut them all at once. If a specific filler should stay, restore it individually; the rest stay removed.

Silence and filler removal work together with your segment trims: the export applies all of them.

## Captions [#captions]

From the same editor you can [pick a caption preset, override its style, or turn captions off](https://openclip.app/docs/clipping/captions/).

## Export and publish [#export-and-publish]

When the clip is ready:

* Export downloads the clip as an MP4. The export renders in your browser and does not use credits.
* Schedule to Social queues the clip for your connected accounts; see [social scheduling](https://openclip.app/docs/social-scheduling/).
* Share creates a public link; see [sharing and exporting](https://openclip.app/docs/clipping/sharing-and-exporting/).

## Good to know [#good-to-know]

* The editor opens rendered clips only. A moment that was detected but not processed into a clip has no editor page.
* Edits are per clip. Restyling one Viral Moment never touches the others.
