Edit video
Trim, crop, rotate, resize, compress, or mute a video in one pass.
Edit video is six small operations under one roof. Pick an operation, set its options, and get an MP4 back. Every operation in this family outputs MP4.
Open it at https://openclip.app/tools/edit-video, or press Cmd-K and type the operation you want ("trim", "crop", "mute").
Trim
Cut a video down to a time range.
| Option | Type |
|---|---|
| Start (ms) | Number, defaults to 0 |
| End (ms) | Number |
Times are in milliseconds. Leave End empty to keep everything after the start point.
Crop
Reframe the video. Two ways to define the crop:
- Aspect ratio: pick a preset and the tool centers the crop for you.
- Pixel box: drag a box in the visual crop editor, which sets exact X, Y, width, and height in pixels.
| Option | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, 4:5 | 9:16 |
| X / Y / Width / Height (px) | Free-form pixel values via the crop editor | N/A |
Rotate
Turn or mirror the video.
| Option | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Degrees | 90, 180, 270 | 90 |
| Flip | None, Horizontal, Vertical | None |
Flip sits under advanced options and can be combined with a rotation.
Resize
Scale to exact dimensions. Both fields are required; there is no aspect-lock, so mismatched values will stretch the video.
| Option | Range |
|---|---|
| Width (px) | 1 to 8192 |
| Height (px) | 1 to 8192 |
Compress
Shrink the file. The simple path is a target size; the advanced options give finer control.
| Option | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Target size | Small (10 MB), Medium (25 MB), Large (50 MB), or a custom number | N/A |
| Video quality | Auto, High (8 Mbps), Medium (4 Mbps), Low (2 Mbps) | Auto |
| Max resolution | Original, 1080p, 720p, 480p | Original |
| Audio quality | Auto, High (320 kbps), Good (256 kbps), Standard (192 kbps), Compact (128 kbps) | Auto |
| Audio channels | Stereo, Mono | N/A |
| Remove audio | On/off | Off |
| Quality (CRF) | Higher quality (18), Balanced (23), Smaller file (28), range 18 to 32 | N/A |
Set either a target size or a quality value, not both. When a Quality (CRF) value is set, it takes priority over the target size.
Mute
Strip the audio track. No options; run it and download the silent MP4.
Watermarks and limits
All edit-video outputs are visual, so free-plan results carry a watermark. Runs count against your daily quota, and inputs follow your plan's size and duration caps. See Tools overview.
