How to Batch Process Multiple Videos with OpenClip

Prepare your video files

Gather all the long-form videos you want to process. Organize them by series, speaker, or campaign so your output clips are easier to manage later. Make sure each file is in a supported format (MP4 or MOV recommended) and that audio quality is clear for best AI transcription accuracy.

Tip: Batch processing works best when videos share a consistent format. Naming files descriptively (e.g., 'podcast-ep42-john-doe.mp4') will make it much easier to identify clips after processing.

Log in to your OpenClip account

Sign in to your OpenClip dashboard at app.openclip.ai. Make sure you are on a plan that supports batch processing — Starter, Pro, and Business tiers all support multiple uploads, with higher tiers offering increased monthly video limits and faster processing queues.

Tip: Check your remaining video credits before starting a large batch. You can view your usage in Account Settings under the Billing tab.

Upload multiple videos at once

From the OpenClip dashboard, click 'Upload Videos' and select all the long-form files you want to process in one go. You can drag and drop multiple files simultaneously into the upload area. OpenClip will queue each video for AI processing automatically.

Tip: Upload during off-peak hours (evenings or weekends) if you have a very large batch — processing queues tend to be shorter and your clips will be ready faster.

Configure global clip settings

Before processing begins, set your preferred defaults: output aspect ratio (9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts), caption preset (choose from 10 styles like Beast, Dan, or Pop), and minimum/maximum clip length. These settings apply to all videos in the batch so you don't have to configure each one individually.

Tip: If your batch includes videos for different platforms, consider running separate batches with different aspect ratio settings to produce platform-optimized clips for each destination.

Let OpenClip's AI analyze every video

Once uploaded and configured, OpenClip's AI goes to work on every video in the queue. For each video, AI analyzes the full transcript to score segments by hook strength, narrative completeness, and viral potential. AI-based speaker tracking ensures active speakers stay centered in vertical crops. Each video typically yields 5–15 ranked clip candidates.

Tip: You do not need to stay on the page while processing runs. OpenClip will email you when your batch is complete, or you can check back in the dashboard at any time.

Review your clip candidates

Once processing is complete, open each video's results page to see all AI-generated clip candidates ranked by viral potential score. Each clip shows its hook strength rating, transcript excerpt, and a preview. Browse through the candidates and mark the clips you want to export.

Tip: Focus your review time on the top 3–5 ranked clips per video first. These are the ones OpenClip's AI has scored highest for engagement — you can always come back to lower-ranked candidates later.

Export your selected clips

Select the clips you want to download — either individually or by bulk-selecting across multiple videos — and click Export. OpenClip renders each clip with your chosen caption style, aspect ratio, and speaker framing baked in. Files download as MP4s ready for direct upload to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, or Twitter/X.

Tip: Use descriptive file naming when exporting. OpenClip auto-names files based on the source video and clip timestamp, which makes it easy to track which clip came from which original video.
