An originality flag is a platform-side classification marking a post as unoriginal, typically because it matches existing content, carries another platform's watermark, or comes from an account whose output is predominantly recycled. The consequence is usually distributional rather than punitive: the post is deprioritised in recommendation surfaces, and repeated flags can push the whole account into reduced reach or out of eligibility for creator payout programs. Common triggers include reposting a file that already exists elsewhere on the platform, visible watermarks from another app, minimal edits over someone else's video, and posting patterns that look like automated redistribution. Flags are generally invisible in the interface, so the symptom clippers actually notice is a sudden and sustained drop in view velocity across posts that previously performed, which is why people often misdiagnose it as a shadowban.
